Love Shines
I really, really want to start working on my scrapbooks more this year!
To start the year off I made this layout using a favorite picture from last year of me and my husband :)
The 8 X 8 layout is based on a sketch that can be found on the Elle's Studio blog.

Boarding!
One of the highlights of our California vacation is some sort of boarding. The first time we went it was all about the skim boarding. Plus we "had to" get a couple long boards to take home (those were very hard to pack on our luggage!) The last time we went the boys advanced to body boards and then surf boards.
Here is a layout of my husband skim boarding...
I used the perfect summer papers..."Saltwater" made by Elle's Studio.
There is one full set of the papers available at Paper Issues...if you enter the code ANDREAWIEBE at checkout you'll get a bonus 20% off!
Have a wonderful day,

Bre's Graduation Day!
Today is a big day in the Wiebe household...our oldest daughter, Bre, is graduating from high school (with honours I may add!). We have been homeschooling Bre since she was in grade one and it has been an amazing experience that I wouldn't trade for anything. When the topic of homeschooling was first brought up Bre was in kindergarten. I flat out refused the idea and thought we could never do it. Twelve years later I am proven wrong.
Bre does school online so we had to travel to be at her ceremony...this makes it even more exciting for me because I love road trips and staying at hotels :) She will get to meet her teachers and classmates for the first time! Today I will hear her name called and she will receive her high school diploma. I'm SO excited for this, it is like closure, like we actually finished! Then in September a new chapter will begin when she attends college to earn either a diploma or degree in Computer Sciences.
Congratulations Bre, I love you and I'm so proud of your hard work. The pictures in this layout are of Bre's first year and last year of school.
(I'll post some graduation and prom pictures tomorrow!)

we miss you Rosie!
I'd love to share a very colourful layout featuring my daughters guinea pig that passed away a few months ago.
The layout is for a challenge over at Scraptastic Club. The challenge was to use six paper strips...I wove the six strips together to place around the photo.

missing california!
I love looking back at pictures from our September trip to California...especially when it is SO cold here! I love the snow we have but the cold wind and cloudiness really gets to me!
I found inspiration for this layout from two challenge. The first is from a sketch challenge over at the Elle's Studio blog and the second from a Thursday Recipe Challenge at October Afternoon. The October Afternoon recipe challenge was to use 6 patterned papers, 4 of one shape (I used 4 butterflies), 2 brads, and 1 chipboard element with bonus points if you use 3 or more collections on your page (yeah I did...Farm Girl, 5 & Dime, Fly a Kite, and The Thrift Shop)!

Sheriff loves to come camping with us...I'm pretty sure it is his favorite thing to do! He loves getting SO dirty and living outside for the weekend.

Sparkly!
I made this layout for the American Crafts button challenge!
American Crafts Supplies:
Pattern Paper: Firefly Festival and Tickled Tulip (Dear Lizzy); Warm Wishes and Reply (Letterbox); Sophia Tuckett (Craft Fair); Howdy (Everyday); and Here Comes the Sun (Blue Skies).
Ribbon: Lively (Dear Lizzy)
Buttons: Glitter (Elegance)
Thicker: Roller Rink
Other:
Embroidery Floss (DMC)
The little banner was so quick and fun to make that I thought I share a little "how to"...
1. Punch (or cut out) several isosceles triangles out of paper, the Fabric Finish papers by Dear Lizzy punched just beautifully! Fold over the top or the widest portion.
2. Staple onto embroidery floss and trim off the extra paper. This works great because you can move your banner pieces around before gluing them down on your project!
Blessings,
